Purchase Terms
Version: 21 October 2026 · Privacy Notice
A personalised digital gift. A little imagination. Clear information before you buy.
1. Who you are buying from
Your Bit of Space is operated by Insignia Creative Ltd. Business and correspondence address: Unit 2 Marble Court Business Park, Lymington Road, Torquay, Devon TQ1 4FB. Company number: 04693927. VAT number: GB737267118. Contact: comms@yourbitofspace.com. These terms apply to consumer purchases made through yourbitofspace.com. Please save a copy before ordering.
2. Your gift
You are buying a personalised digital novelty certificate in A4 PDF format. The certificate celebrates an imaginary cubic mile at your selected cosmic destination. It is symbolic only: it grants no legal ownership, title, property rights, official registration, exclusive allocation or right to visit or use any part of space or a celestial body. We are not a land registry or space authority.
The price includes one personalised PDF, a copy emailed to the buyer and optional direct email delivery to one recipient. No printed certificate, frame, physical product or postage is included. The chosen Space Date is printed on the certificate; it does not schedule a future email delivery. A personal message, if supplied, appears in the recipient email only.
For Wildcard orders we select one of the ten destinations offered on the website. It is revealed after payment confirmation and remains fixed for that order. You cannot choose or change the result afterwards. Different customers may receive the same destination.
3. Price, payment and placing your order
The launch price is £2.95 per gift, in pounds sterling, including any applicable VAT. There are no delivery charges. The total is shown before payment. Future price changes do not change an accepted order. Payment is handled by Stripe on its secure checkout.
Check your selection, certificate name, date, email addresses and message on the review screen. You can go back and change these before continuing to payment. Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it when payment is confirmed and your order is confirmed on the website or by email. If payment fails or is cancelled, we do not supply a paid gift. If we cannot fulfil a paid order, we will tell you and refund the amount paid.
You must be entitled to use the payment method and have legal capacity to enter the purchase contract. No subscription or recurring payment is created.
4. Personalisation and buyer errors
You are responsible for checking the information you enter. We do not offer amendments or free replacement certificates for buyer-entered spelling mistakes, dates, destinations, email addresses or messages after purchase. Please do not include sensitive information, unlawful content or material you have no right to use. Provide another person’s details only where you have a legitimate reason to send them the gift.
This policy does not remove your rights where we make an error, the product is faulty or it does not match what you ordered. It also does not prevent you exercising your data protection rights. Correcting personal data in our records does not automatically entitle you to a newly personalised certificate.
5. Digital delivery and technical requirements
After payment confirmation, we begin preparing your certificate and make it available on the order page. We also submit the buyer email and any selected recipient email for delivery. Delivery can take time because of processing, mail filtering or provider delays. An email marked as sent means it has been submitted to the email provider; it is not proof it reached an inbox.
Use an up-to-date browser and an internet connection for ordering and downloading. To view the certificate you need software capable of opening a PDF. Printing requires access to an A4 printer or a print service, at your own cost. Display and printed colours may differ.
If an email or PDF is missing, check spam folders and the order page, then contact us with your order reference and buyer email address. Do not pay again to resolve a delayed order. We will investigate delivery failures. You can check out as a guest; order-page access depends on the original browser’s essential cookie. Save your PDF and confirmation email, as we do not promise permanent online storage or access from another device.
6. Cancellation and immediate digital supply
For digital content, a consumer normally has 14 days after the contract is made to cancel. Our checkout asks for your express agreement to supply the certificate immediately after payment and your acknowledgement that your cancellation right ends when supply begins. This box is not pre-selected. Your buyer confirmation email records this agreement.
Where you have given that consent and acknowledgement and we have provided the required confirmation, your change-of-mind cancellation right ends when digital supply begins. Personalisation alone is not the basis for this digital-content rule. If the required conditions have not been met, your statutory cancellation rights remain.
If you still have a right to cancel, send a clear statement to our email or postal address. You may use this optional form: “To Insignia Creative Ltd, Unit 2 Marble Court Business Park, Lymington Road, Torquay, Devon TQ1 4FB; comms@yourbitofspace.com. I give notice that I cancel my contract for the following digital certificate: [order reference]. Ordered on: [date]. Consumer name: [name]. Consumer address: [address]. Date: [date]. Signature: [only if sent on paper].”
Where cancellation gives you a refund, we refund the amount due without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. No refund fee is charged. Cancellation rules do not reduce your rights for faulty or misdescribed digital content.
7. If something is wrong
Your digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described. If it is not, contact us. You may be entitled to repair or replacement and, where the legal conditions are met, a price reduction or refund. Any repair or replacement required by law will be provided without charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. Other statutory remedies, including compensation where applicable, remain available.
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or death or personal injury caused by negligence. We remain responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected by these terms.
8. Using the certificate
We retain intellectual property rights in our designs, logo and website. Your purchase allows you and the gift recipient to download, save, print and share the certificate for personal, non-commercial use. It does not permit resale of our designs or a claim that the certificate proves legal ownership. You retain any rights you have in the personal wording you submit and allow us to use it to produce and deliver the order.
9. Privacy, complaints and applicable law
Our Privacy Notice explains how we use buyer and recipient information. For a complaint, email comms@yourbitofspace.com or write to the address above with your order reference and a description of the problem. We will investigate and explain the proposed resolution.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not remove mandatory protections under the law of your home country or any right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Changes to these terms apply to future orders; the version accepted when you ordered applies to that order.
10. Payment confirmation
A live order uses a real payment method and the amount displayed at checkout is charged through Stripe. Please keep your order confirmation and PDF. Any separately identified test or preview environment does not take a real payment and its certificates are marked as previews.
